Week 21 Sonogram!

My mom came in town this weekend to join me for my second sonogram. She had actually never seen a real sonogram. It was so cool! The pictures are below. The first one is so cute. You can see the baby's facial profile. We had a wonderful weekend filled with eating and shopping. But we did manage to get a little work done. We sanded and painted the changing table. Pictures will be coming soon once the new hardware comes in the mail! It turned out awesome.

19 weeks

I have been presented with a challenging task of taking good angled belly pictures since Josh is gone. But I feel like I've come up with a pretty decent solution. This is the start of my nineteenth week. I have started to feel the baby move. It is so weird and cool at the same time. The baby definitely doesn't like it when I lay on my back!

The Great American Road Trip: Day Three

We left San Francisco around noon and hit some bad traffic trying to get to Napa Valley. We decided to stay in the town of St. Helena. We stayed El Bonita Motel, only a short walk from downtown.

We immediately went to a local deli for lunch. From there we headed to Frank Family Vineyard on the recommendation of my good friend Sean Magee. The wine was fantastic, and the atmosphere was very relaxed.

The sommelier there recommended that we go to the Martini House for dinner. It was one of the best meals I've ever had.

Time to head back to Fallon, with a quick stop at the Jelly Belly Factory.

The Great American Road Trip: Day Two

Day two started early as we hit the road for San Francisco. It was about a two hour drive from Sacramento. Unfortunately, the I-80 bridge into San Francisco was closed for major maintenance. We checked into the Marines' Memorial Club and Hotel, and walked to Lefty O'Doul's to watch the Navy v. Ohio State game. Navy played one hell of a game against the #7 team in the nation.

From there we went to the Mission district to get some authentic Mission style burritos. Delicioso!! After lunch we took the subway towards Fisherman's Warf. We had purchased tickets for Alcratraz earlier in the week. I had visited the Rock in 2004, and it was just as good this time around.

From there we worked our way towards China Town. We went to Chef Jai's Restaurant. It is a local favorite right next to some tourist traps. The food was top notch.

After dinner we went back to the motel for a quick snooze, then headed to the San Francisco Creamery Co. We decided to get "The Kitchen Sink" made famous by the TV show Man vs.
Food. It is approximately two gallons of ice cream, eight different scoops of ice cream and eight different kinds of toppings. We made a valiant effort, but in the end, we could not finish it. Feeling extremely miserable, we went back to the motel and went to bed.

Next stop is Napa Valley. Stay tuned for more!

The Great American Road Trip: Day One

We left Fallon on Friday night around 5pm. We decided to stop in Sacramento. We went to a great blues club called The Torch. Next we went to a cigar club called Hangar 17. Finally we finished the night with some cricket at Fox and Goose. This morning Matt and I woke up and ran five miles through downtown Sacramento. On now to San Francisco.

Go Navy! Beat The Buckeyes!
