Black Mountain Marathon

What a day! The weather was crap. There was a steady downpour all day long. It was about 40 degrees on the mountain, 30 degrees at the top. About a dozen people had to be carted off the summit due to hypothermia. Keep in mind that this is the tallest mountain east of the Mississippi. The trail really wasn't a trail. There were no nice wood chips, or handrails etc. It was rocky and muddy the entire way. There were so many rocks you were jumping back and forth like a creek bed, and the mud was deep enough that it would suck your shoe right off. In spite of all that, it was a great time.

Cash, Johnny Cash

We got a new dog this weekend! We rescued him from a shelter in North Carolina. He is an 8 week old schnauzer/yorkie/daschund mix named Cash. He is adorable...a little ornery but adorable. Here are some pictures.

Stargazers

Every time I smell stargazers, it makes me think of my paternal great-grandmother, Nonny. She was such a cool lady. I went to a baby shower and the hostess had the most beautiful stargazers. I couldn't resist taking out my new lens and getting a few pictures.

My New Lens

I have been playing with my news lens I got in the mail today. My parents gave it to me for Christmas. It is so cool. Here are some pictures I took tonight of random stuff around the house.

Navy Bowl Game

I got the chance to use my new camera at the Navy Bowl Game in Washington, D.C. We lost, but had such a great time with some friends we hadn't seen in a long time.
